Baby Classes!
There were no tears in the baby classes this week.
I was surprised because I thought the Santa outfit would scare one or two of them.
A few of them were clearly nervous but they warmed up after a while.
'T kun' was having a good time in the first lesson, although he didn't want to let it show!
'K-chan' was really happy and enjoying Christmas, up until I took the Santa decoration down from the ceiling.
She ran away from him. 'Ta-Kun' started the lesson by singing Frozen songs in his own little world.
They all suddenly became interested in everything when we stated reading some Christmas books.
When 'Ta-kun' said “snowman” he was so cute!
We sang songs and the children were able to follow some of the gestures.
Some kids, who were shy when they first started, sang in a big voice.
It's nice to see them improving.
For the last lesson we make some christmas trees and decorated some cookies!
The children looked super happy and probably wish it was Christmas every lesson! 'Y-Chans' cookie was gone in no time!
Thank you to all the parents who helped me out during the lesson.

Santa Claus is coming... to your yochien!
This week, Santa was very busy getting ready for Christmas,
so he asked me and J-kun to go to his favourite yochiens for him.
The children were very surprised and happy to see 'J-kun Santa' and 'Eve Olaf'.
First, we sang 'I'm A Little Snowman'. Some children were shy, but most of them sang the song very well in a big voice.
Next we all took a photo together.
We will send it to Father Christmas (Santa) so he knows who is on his 'nice' list!
After that, we played some Christmas games.
In the first game, the children had to sing
'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'
before choosing a random card and asking J-kun Santa what he wanted for Christmas.
'What do you want for Christmas?'
'I want... toys!'
We were really happy with how well the children could ask the question!
Next we played the 'Sleigh Relay'.
The children had to keep their toys in their sleighs before passing the sleigh to the next person. It was fun to chant
'Come on, K-chan! Come on S-kun!
Go, go, go!'.
Then we read a Christmas book together, and finally it was present time!
Each present had some snacks and a message from me and J-kun.
We are so proud of all of our yochien kids.
Everyone is trying really hard, so J-kun and I are trying really hard too!
We'll see you next year!

４回目のレッスン♪
今日のレッスンはクリスマスレッスン♪
クリスマスツリーをつくったり
スノーマンの歌をうたったり
楽しいレッスンになりました。
こども達のこころを一番惹きつけたのは
なんと２冊の絵本！
小さな小さなベビちゃん達が
Ｊくんの読む絵本に集中していく様子がとてもかわいかったです。
こうなってくると絵本選びもとても楽しくなってきます♡
ママたちからおうちでお子様と一緒に手遊びなどで遊びたいから
しっかり歌詞を覚えたーい！とご要望がありました。
とてもステキなママたちです♡
ここで歌詞をご紹介させていただきます。
♪Round and round the garden,
goes the little mouse.
Up, up up, he creeps.
Up into his house.♪
（お子さまがニコニコになる手遊びです。）

It was so fun!
Sumiredai Yochien.
What do you want for Christmas?
In this lesson we played a new game.
The kids had a lot of fun as you can see from the photos.
One child was chosen to sit in the middle.
The others ran around the card to music.
When the music stops they needed to stop at the closest card and scream,
“What do you want for Christmas?”.
The player in the middle calls out one of the cards.
If a player is standing next to the card, they must change places with the person in the middle.
The kids repeated the phrase
'What do you want for Christmas?' many times.
It's quite a difficult and long sentence so they needed to practice a lot.
Repeating the question over and over again helped them a lot with their fluency, and because we played a game it was fun, too.

えいごであそぼ＠豊田幼稚園
年中さんのクラスに遊びに行ってきました。
各クラス、先生方がとてもかわいいデコレーションをされていました。
お教室からはこども達のクリスマスソングが聞こえてきます♪
クリスマスまでもうすこし！
今日の絵本は
「Father Christmas Needs a Wee!」
トイレに行きたくなっちゃう
サンタさんのお話です。
プレゼントを持ってお出かけしたサンタさん。
行く先々で用意してくれた飲み物をぜーんぶ飲んでしまったら・・・。
絵本を読みながらこども達と一緒に
飲み物を当てっこしたり
プレゼントをカウントしたり
と楽しいひと時を過ごしました。

Christmas Cheers!
The students seem to be getting more and more excited about Christmas!
Their energy levels were really high!
We enjoyed several different games and practiced the question;
“What do you want for Christmas?”
I then encouraged the students to change the question for different occasions.
“What do you want for breakfast?”
and
“What do you want for you birthday?” were some of the questions the students tried to ask.
It's still early but by next week hopefully they'll get the hang of it!
Try it at home.
Ask the children “What do you want for Christmas?”
You might be surprised by some of their answers!
You can also try asking them

“what do you want for dinner?”
They might not give a perfect answer but 'practice makes perfect!'.

Ten little monkeys!
Our baby classes are always a lot of fun for me.
The children are becoming more and more familiar with the songs.
They are so cute when they dance, and I'm amazed at how much they can remember considering they only come twice a month.
At the end of the lesson they made two wreaths.

Our toddlers have received a boost of confidence from somewhere and are using it to great effect in our classes.
We are building up quite a catalog of songs, most of which they can remember gestures to!
One of our recent songs has been 'Five little monkeys, jumping on the bed'.
This week I showed them a book which I recently bought, which uses the song. I think they enjoyed pressing the buttons!
For the last part of the lesson, they tested their craft making skills.
They each made a colorful Christmas tree by cutting out paper strips and sticking them onto card.
Thanks for your help mums, we couldn't have done it without you!
I've put them up in the classroom in Yaizu along with the other decorations which were made for us.

I did it!!
Balloon Art!
Today I went to another balloon art class.
The theme was Christmas.
The instructor taught us how to make a wreath.
The one I made in class was to big to bring home though!
When I got home I made two more. Luckily I remembered how to do it!!

X'mas is coming!
Yaizu Yochien: eigo club
The children are doing really well. I was really impressed with their ability to remember things is this class.
Every lesson the children practice introducing themselves. Up until recently we have always used music. Now they have started to introduce themselves without the songs. If however, someone forgets something, the other kids are quick to prompt them using the songs which they have learnt.
This month the theme is Christmas. We introduced a new Christmas song! I wonder if they will remember it!
We asked them “What do you want for Christmas?”. Some of them hadn't yet decided but toys and dresses seemed popular.
We introduced some new Christmas vocabulary and played a game in pairs. Although the children are different ages, they all played nicely together.
At the end of the class we read a book about a reindeer. They children enjoyed touching the different textures introduced in the book.
